Quick Question

I heard you can pitch a sample with the mpc without "destroying" the quality, or the time duration, but when I pitch something, that happens. Can anyone shed some light on this?

what you are referring to are pitch shifting and time stretching, these are different from the 'tune' function within a program.

you can find these functions in the TRIM screen. they are destructive processes

oh ok. so my best bet would pitch a sample up, before i import the sample to the mpc?

Your best bet is to read the manual. You can do pitch shift with the MPC.

llol i kno you can pitch shift. let me restate my question so i dont cause confusion.

i dont need to kno how to time stretch, but i how can i pitch up my sample, with out destroying it?

some people are just crazy around here with te read the manual button. yes you can pitch shift and time stretch in the mpc. but they are both destuctive in the unit. no undo button. so if your more comfy doing it in your daw just continue that then load it already pitched

but the techniques they were tryin to tell u to do werent helping cause my samples we still geting destructed.

but i figured out, just tuning it up a few notches. no sample destruction, just speeds it up a lil.
