Footswitch capable of dynamics?

I was playing with a footswitch the other day triggering the kick drum on my Mpc but the kick was delayed slightly and only played at the highest velocity. My question is, are there footswitches capable of playing different velocities? I play live shows and if I could do the kick with my feet it would free up my hand to do a lot of other things.

Short answer: no.

You would have to buy a drum trigger-to-midi box like the Alesis D4 to get dynamics. It's very easy to make your own drum triggers using piezo transducers and something like the D4 has multiple trig inputs so you could have more than one or two.
