Copying samples...

Is it possible to copy samples? As in, say I have a wav file "Hat 2" but I want to filter it and have the versions with and without the filter. Is it possible to make copies of samples in JJOS so I can do this?

Also, when I take like... 30 seconds off a record that I like, what I do is chop parts of that sampled piece. In doing that, I make new .wav files for the chops but as a result, the chopped parts are removed from the .wav of the original recording. This another reason I want to know if it is possible to copy.

I'm not sure if I explained myself very well here, any elaboration needed, I will explain further.

why do you chop and extract individually? you could make a program and have the whole sample just make your chop points manually.

you could copy a sample and edit it to your liking but name it different that way it wont overwrite the original.

the one sample.wav can be used on a number of pads without conflicting file names, as each is with its own Params set per Pad. ie pitch, vol, filter, adsr, fx send, etc that is stored in the PGM file.

Precisely..........Also RTM.....copying a sample is basic mpc knowledge.
Trim mode , then press window, copy is f5........

pads can be duplicated, ie: pad copy. so a pad with the nice setup can simply be copied, the same sample is used( not actually doubling wav use, but pointing to same wav file) and new or extra setup can be acheived.

i think u just go to GPE / first column / pad number, then 'window' button and options to copy pad are there.

That sounds a hell of a lot easier and a lot less time-consuming. How would I go about doing that?
