Hey all, (mp2500, +128ram, +2gCF, jj 3.08)

Just startin to load up and noticed that the load screen says:
Wave Free=122.4MB
I'm assuming this is refering to the ram.

Wondering if that's a normal amount of free space when first powering up and loading? I have original os in root directory as well as the jj. Didn't think os sys files were very big?

Have been running a couple of heavy(lrge data files) prog and seq and noticed that a few samples etc were missing, did a check and had maxed out the ram so no space for thse samples. Any way long story and poss another thread question.

Could be a stoopid question but is it poss to put larger ram cards into the 2500? If so, what cards are compatible?

Update - May have found the issue to first question, just r'lised that the internal memory still has the factory progs and samps there. Anyone know if you can delete these? Cant seem to find a way to open a delete option. (havn't run a search on this topic! if there's one about would someone mind posting a link... :o )

cheers

the MAX RAM is 128. you could try bouncing down some of your samples/wav files either in the MPC or into your DAW to free up room.

Cheers, still havnt quite figured it out yet.

Each song (containing x amount of samples) has it's own prog and at the mo I need all the samples in that prog for the track to run properly. The only way I've gotten it to work so far is to clear the mp when loading the new prog/song - then there's enough ram to handle... Fine for a rehearsal but that's a bit of down time between trax on a live gig!!

Would have been better/best to have re-written the tracks in the mp, but wasn't confident that I could get the same feel to fit bass, keys etc. Basically without redoing everything!!

May still come to that, but there's quite a few things that were rec and moved in PT in terms of timing, transitions, live instruments. I'm still learning how to use the mp so gonna be a mission...
