NRPN's and MPC1000 JJOS2

question 1 : i'm trying to figure out how to send NRPN's , and when i look at the slider's MIDI CC list i see 98-NRPN LSB, and 99-NRPN MSB. does this mean i have to use both sliders to send a NRPN?

question 2: does the mpc record NRPN data sent to it from midi? if so, where would i edit that?

98 is "low" and 99 is "high". in this particular case, the NRPN is for a range value. aside from that, i have no clue... good luck

Don´t think so, nothing in the manual about it.

i should have been more specific, so here you go... MSB is Most Significant Byte, and LSB is Least Significant Byte. With alot of NRPNs, the number transmitted/received does not fit into the 0-127 MIDI range, so alot of stuff is inaccessible.

yeah man, been readin up a bit how to transmit , and its a pain in the arse from mpc1000!!

but, i found this, which looks like evrything can be made to work...i can remap anything to anything, with a range control, etc...

nawwwww dont use that... unless you're linking hardware to software... if the midi signal passes to or thru your computer, use this for PC. i know theres something similar for mac. i used this to translate NRPNs on my Electribe ES-1 a long time ago. I never really got it working, but I didnt know much back then.

yeah man, i saw that, theres midipipe for osx i been using, does the same thing with complete remapping , nrpn's an everything. but i been preparing to do live stuff WITHOUT computer. just mpc,and a few synths....goin back to the oldstyle..so i gotta do a hardware solution for the boxes that arent fully mapped to CC's...and using both q-links to adjust one parameter in nrpn world is pure wackness...personally, watchin someone on stage in front of a computer is mad boring..so, gotta go oldskool!

get a bcr2000. lots of knobs so so no one thinks you're looking at your ex-girlfriend on myspace during your set. really affordable. sends ANYTHING. I use it for nrpn with my micron. has lots of cool lights. plays well with the mpc too as far as routing what it's sending through midi outs and channels.
