I am not sure about this (maybe my mind is tripping) but i think i once used a screen dump feature on the 2500. Am i way off or what?

It's so you can save the current MPC screen to a file. Just like how JJ shows screen shots on his site.

MODE F9, hit SCREEN, turn the function on, and hit undo to copy the screen to the memory card.
