worth starting on jjos2 if new to mpc?

hi all, i studied the differences between the two. i only just found out that i have jjos 1.01!! i have only had the mpc a couple of days and have really liked getting to grips with jjos 4.99. i didn't know the main screen are different. But does people think that it would be better just to backtrack a little and start a fresh with os2 or should i just perfect 4.99?
