its not the screen contrast that needs adjusting is it? i think its a different key combination than akai os -

heres a quote - from JJ -

"The contrast of LCD should turn a DATA wheel, pressing the [STOP] key."

hope it helps.....

are you using a mac?

Ive been out of town, but i dont think yall get it,

I installed the JJ OS, now all i have is a blank screen i cant do anything. And now i have to buy a compact flash card reader for my computer, and buy the regular operating system off ebay, put the regular OS on th CF card to at least get it to work normal, because i can still hold the window button down when i cycle the mpc off and it looks for the OS on the CF card.

does anybody know why i have a blank screen, or have any other sugeestions?? thx

i followed the instructions to the T, i turned it off and on and held the window button down, the MPC then finds the OS on the card, i hit record, and it loads the OS, then after it loads, the screen goes blank, as to cycle off and on, but the screen stay blank and i cant do anything, it just gets stuck.

just to be sure, because i'm not sure if you correctly understood the advice that was given earlier in this thread, so:

after the MPC finishes starting up and you're looking at a blank screen: hold the STOP button down & turn the DATA wheel.

this is how you adjust the screen contrast in JJ OS. if the contrast is all the way up your screen will look blank.
try that if you haven't already.

OK thanks again, ill check the contrast/data wheel...and if its not that then nanoloop ur probably right. about the file.....my problem is now, is that i have to get a compact flash reader for my computer cause i put the JJ OS on the cf card thru the mpc in the first place, lol, gotta wait till i get paid to buy more BS.....f'n sucks but thx!!
