JJOS1 - Does it use sample memory to operate?

Just purchased OS 1 and now I don't have enough memory to load up the beat I did on JJ free. I have absolutely no samples, sequences, or programs loaded, but it says I only have 6.4MB free sample memory. WTF??? I searched and couldn't find anything on this, even in the JJ FAQ. I don't have the 128MB yet. Still on 16MB.

Is it still loading the preloaded sounds?

Nah, I tuned a. load off. And I made sure the joint was empty of all sequences, programs, and samples.

Yup, I think it installs in the internal memory. I also don't have the extra ram and with JJ Free I had 9,7MB wave space, now with JJ1 i have 6,4 just like you. So I guess it's time for mem upgrade. Go cheap and don't buy the EXM, u can get some other ram for 75% less...

Yeah, I e-mailed them and they said "More [ 3MB ] JJ OS to the domain of SEQ than OS of AKAI is used. Therefore, "Wave Free" decreases by 3MB from OS of AKAI." I installed OS 2 and it sucked up even more memory. Now I onle get like 28 seconds of sample time. Hopefully my RAM will be in tomorrow!
