Hi, I have been trying to understand the JJOS2 manual for grid edit and I don't understand it at all.

This is incredibly confusing. Its got like 127 different controls ( NRPN LSB and other weird names ). What in the world is all this? How can I put these gibrish sounding controls to use ?

Also what is poly press and ch. press? How do I use this?

Few more things, is there a way to stretch or space out your notes automaticly? Also how can I adjust the volume on a particular note that i hit on the piano?

Any offtopic tips tricks about midi would be greately appreciated.

Thanks.

these are all terms related to the general MIDI specification.
some of this is very important to know, other parts of it you will probably never use.

do a google search for MIDI. try and find a 'MIDI faq' or 'intro to MIDI' and it will explain all of that stuff.

also, just try goggling the terms directly.

I did google them most of that did not make sense to me. Could you plz tell me how to use it. Maybe if I turn it on I will be able to understand a little. I keep pressing stuff arround but it is not doing anything, how do you actually activate some of these things ?

then you should back up and start with a basic MIDI faq or an intro to MIDI.
gottal walk before you can run.

some of that stuff will make more sense if you have an external synth hooked up to your MPC that you are triggering/controlling. it won't have much of an effect (if any) on internal samples you have loaded in the MPC.

Sorry, I should have introduced my setup. I have a keyboard hooked up to my mpc. My mpc is hooked up to Cubase SX3. My plugins are Trilogy, Colossus, Kontakt and Stylus RMX.

Im learning to walk at the moment on google street. I don't do any recording with software. I record just with my MPC. This nrpn like its for software recording, am I right ? If so then I don't want to know it.

All that LSB volume control etc, that is made to control my host & plugins right? I have to have something turned on in my plugins in order to use this stuff?

Out of those 127 controls, I could only figure out and get working a few...
