okay I been so pumped about getting an mpc 1000 for some time, finally got a great deal with jjos installed, 128 of memory and loads and laods of creativity spewing out my ears...been messing with this thing for like 3 weeks and for some reason my drums and stuff aint coming out right on the loop.... i have rythmn as i am a very good deejay and have been for mad years...but i play a house loop into the mpc and record and the loop always always always comes out funky in the ned...been online looking at drum count vids and everything...please help me out man...is it cause quantize is on and if so how the hell do you shut it off, am i not setting the bpm correctly, or is it the measure....yes i read both manuals cover to cover ..please help me out or direct me somewhere to find out what the hell is wrong... :arrow:

thanks a bundle....disabling swing really helped...now i can at least hear the same data i tapped in on the pads....now i guess ill have to keep praticing to find that darn 4/4 groove and match my drums up to the clicks and on time with the loop feature...any more tips would be grand

actually it was a house loop i used swing in that, but i went back to hip hop and forgot to take it off...honestly...i hate to say this but i need to study drums....cause with loop on it sucks when the overdub begins when im finishing up the boom bap i got goin...its a process to learn i know i know...but man it makes me feel like i got no rhythm sometimes...anyways enuff typing back to the lab...let me know any other tips..like can i seperate the bpm of each track seperately and get them to play in their own bpm....dont clown me but i really wanna know

So wait you are sampling in loops, not playing them? That might be your problem. It takes editing and proper sequencing to do loops. Buy the MPC1000 tutorial (the links are found in the ads to the right).... they teach you how sample in drum loops and loop them.

I recommend reading some of this material, and also paying for it makes this community stronger. I knew a good amount of information but I paid for it anyways, and I still learned a lot.

yeah it takes some real know how to sample loops. you better pay for a tutorial. its only $40 for a download. oh wait, you did realize you dont get a real book, didnt you?

hey wait. im willing to bet youre a plant. as in you arent a real person wanting to know about the mpc, you are just playing ignorant in order to promote your tutorial. i think youre playing dumb. you only have 3 posts? yeah right.

I bought the tutorial and liked some of the material. I am not affiliated with anyone.

What the hell is your problem? I don't understand what we did to make you mad?
The tutorial is good and has helped a lot of people including keep these forums open.

1..turn off loop function so when you get to the end it just keeps goin then just cut it back to how many bars you want.
2. switch how it records loop with it on, you can switch how it records your loop either ,record till the end or record thru the end .
3. turn time correct off.

One of these things could be your problem.
