Anyone tried 7200rpm HDD?

I find myself waiting for my 5400rpm to perform, just wondering if anyone tried a 7200?
heat probs? etc.

In the sense of faster data transfer, there is really no need for a 7200rpm hd. The MPC's IDE ports are slow and definately the weakest part of the chain. Do your MPC a favour and use 5400rpm disks. In most cases, they are less noisy, need less power and produce less heat.

No moving parts: Totally silent. Very low power consumption. Not likely to produce any heat. The 8gb size is more than enough for my needs and makes for faster backups over USB.

It's SATA and MPC has IDE so forget about it. Have you tried bigger CF cards? People reported CFS bigger than 2gb to work...

Woops. That was the wrong link. It's updated to IDE now. It'll work.

It's 1/4th of the SSD price and same capacity. It'll probably be a bit slower though.

That's a damn good price, but the SSD will outlast CF by a very large margin. At that price I'll prolly get that CF card for other uses though. Thanks for the heads up.
