Internal Memory

i'm new with the mpc, but i know the basics, but an errorcs constantly occurs
the problem which i hope some of you can help me with:

The version is: JJOS1 version 4.99 (16 mn Internal Memory)
Status Load Screen Internal Memory:
Wave free 6.4 mb
Seq. Free 4.6 mb

If I go to the Records Mode and then to the 'Time Function' it displays the maximum dure of 00m38s, that i find a little bit weird?
So i've recorded a sample of 38 seconds, then i've selected 'keep'

So then i go the trim screen and sample01 appears
then to the chop screen,chop it up etc and then extract/discard when i press 'do it' the mpc says: Insufficient memory!!??
so i can't do anything....

Is the Internal memory the problem, or the version of the software?
i hope y'all can help me out, so i can finally work on it

take your ram out and put it back in. you can also check all connections

seems like your just out of memory. Buy some RAM and you wont have that problem anymore. Or you can sample smaller pieces

and 2gb on the flash mem.

No Ram is memory, the CF is storage different functions.

Yes but your obviously requesting more than 16mb on the maching. remember if its a stereo sample than its twice as big as a mono version. Factor in the Ram your requesting to edit it. It may be too much. All I know is I have never used my 1k without the added ram and i have never had an insufficient memory issue.

is it trustable to buy internal exm 128 mb memory from ebay for about 30 bucks?
they're not the original akai exm's but still...

I actually want to try to make beats without RAM expansion though..... I think it would be fun.

Can I just take the RAM out and put it back in whenever I want?
