I'm trying to get the tempo of my sample (Thelma Houston - Don't Leave Me This Way)

I discarded some silence before the music started. I have roughly a 4 bar sample taken. When I go to edit and go to the Tempo section and analyze it, it give me a Tempo of 176.9

I know this isn't correct even though it's a disco song, but I'm not taking parts from the main beat, just the intro.

Plus the intro is slower than the main beat, so I'm trying to figure out if I'm doing something wrong.

I'm just trying to find the right tempo so I can chop the sample correctly. Let me know if i am missing something in the process.

Thanks for your help.

That's what I wound up doing, I just wanted to see how the function worked use it this time. I thought I had it figured out but I was wrong.

This wasn't going to be my standard way of chopping, just wanted to see how it worked and if there was a way to make it work more efficiently.

O.K If you can get four or two bars to loop, take that loop and place it on an audio track. Set the bars. Adjust tempo. Get the audio track to loop. That's your tempo.

Yeah I did that with another track i did and got it to loop at 75BPM.

I wound up making a club banga crunk beat with it. lol

That's not even my style.

But it sounded nice.
