Adjusting Sample Start while the Sequencer is Running?

Is it possible to adjusting sample start and end points while the sequencer is running?
I'm considering copping a 2500 and slappin JJ O.S. 2XL on there and really like to know is sample adjustment possible while the sequencer iz in play...
Tried a search and came up with nadda.

Yep, you can do that with q-links since os1 I believe, but only start OR end can be written to seqence, you can also get to Trim mode and set start/end points from there while seq is on.

you can do it easily with OS1, but JJ killed that option in OSXL, which is one of main reasons I won't use Xl....

There are both sample start and end to q-links, maybe hes talkin about sample start to velocity which is on os1 and not in 2 or xl

How good would you say the Q-links works for a more detailed edit of Start & End. The reason I ask is because when I use to have a 1k I remember it work really well for rough approximations but was a pain for surgical edits.

Shorter sample=more precise, checked that few times on beats, but cuts where to rough as you said. I use it only for "timeshifting" of single drum hits, you know that trick with silence in front of the sample to shift it back or front, smthing like swing but without moving notes, so I mainly move start point where the silence is or for rough cuts at the snarerolls and it's pretty accurate on small bits.

OK GOOD, the "timeshifting" trick you described is precisely what I'm interested in. And your mos def right about the shorter sample=more precise thing.

Just out of curiosity, about how much silence do you generally throw in front of those drum hits?

Used to have a plan to measure and apply that to tempo base.. but I gave up in a favor of feeling.. so it's 200ms to have some space for shift and it's still accurate.
