OK i posted this in the FAQ thread and haven't gotten an answer so i figured it would get replies quicker if i just made a thread.

I went to JJ's website the other day (MPC 2500) and noticed that OS 2XL has taken the front page, while OS1 and OS2 have been sent back to an "old operating systems" page. No specification of price for OS1 or 2 anymore. I only see a "Sale of the password of only OS1 or OS2 has not been carried out." message, but no links to purchase the passwords. Has the password sale for OS1 and 2 been discontinued now that JJ is focusing on 2XL? Are they free now as well?

I'm almost sure they're not free, but just in case, can anyone clear this up? Thanks.

ahhh, figured as much. So, if people can now install 2XL without having to install 1 or 2, their OS 1 and 2 passwords aren't necessary anymore, i figure? Wonder if it's possible to buy "second-hand" passwords for the older OS's now. It should be perfectly legal, just like transferring software licenses. Would be nice for those of us who want to get into JJ OS, but don't want the extremely cut down Free OS, or don't want to go head-on into the new 2XL, since i'd imagine it's pretty buggy still.

Well i think i may just test drive the various versions of the JJ OS and if i'm not feeling it just go back to the Akai OS. If I like it enough and if it's possible, I may try to find someone to sell me their older OS password. (sounds reasonable, right?)

Thanks guys.

Uhhhh actually, never mind, I think I read that the password is Machine ID dependent, right? So it'd be impossible to buy it from someone else.

If that's the case, yeah.... once again, don't mind me. nothing to see here
