recording a beat

yo !gotta question concerning recording a beat. when I record my beat from the mpc to a computer I would like to mute some tracks in some parts of the song ( you know just for a few moments to have the bit changing a little bit and make it more live let's say) and I've seen guys doing it on youtube. They muted each track by holding a pad for a while. and this is my question : how to mute tracks while recording by holding some pads(how to assign each track to a different pad). I can't find the proper menu but I think it should be easy . I don't know maybe it's not available on the jj os 3.9?? PEACE

ish man ...now that was a question ...I don't know whether it's because of weed or alcohol or that drank or maybe that's just my character but i remind I've been watering a plant in my work for about two months after which I eventually realised the plant was artificial, or numerous times of heating a kettle, anticipating for the water to boil and realising after 15 minutes that the kettle is situated on a different burner... definitely I'm not as slick as Rick... Peace
