Hey what's up with the grid edit midi notes, ie have overdub engaged, move cursor to note you want to me, spin wheel, but it only moves one tick at a time, you can't do a continuous movement of a a note from say 2:0:1 to 2:0:48 (i'm pretty sure you could do this on os 2.
Also what is the best way to transpose notes : ie you have piano melody on track 1, you want to transpose an octave but you want to keep the existing notes, so you have C2--C3 etc. What I do is copy track 1 to a free track then do a traspose of notes, copy it, then paste back to track 1 with the merge option, is there a better way?, I don't really care cause it doesn't take too long to do.
cheers all

editing a note's timing placement has always moved a note 1 tick at a time - are you saying you want it to move by TC increments? if so that'd defeat it's ability to nudge notes, which is what it's for. or are you saying that if you keep spinning and spinning it eventually stops and you have to turn overdub off and then back on again to keep going? if so, i've noticed that but never reported it.

as far as transposing + keeping the original, just COPY first, TRANSPOSE, and then PASTE all in the same track.

the latter! good man. this is the first time i've heard anyone else complain about it. let's both report this. a similar condition exists in DRUM grid edit, but it's a lil different. instead of being able to MOVE an event, you have to "nudge" it. instead of the note moving, you see a > or < value depending on how far it's shifted from a time correct point. in my opinion, this is unnecessary and places too much emphasis on TC.

i say let us just throw a note around wherever we want.

Hey nym, in relation to rotating the jog wheel, i think the max limit was 1/8 note, then depress overdub to keep going, now in osx1 it only moves 1 tick at a time, is this a product of quantise strength?, though i think it is the same relation when TC is off

gotcha. FlowforJC and you both have seen this behavior in 1.11, i'll hunt it down and report it with your names attached.

Just for the record... I think the < or > (from grid) notation system is pretty cool, and very useful. I've gotten comfortable with it more quickly than any other sequence editor (and I've used many).

But I WOULD agree that the note you're moving should be able to go as far as you want! I'm just in favor of keeping the < GRID > system.
