That's it, I'm done with XL. I've enjoyed a few of the features, and tried my best to accept it. But the 1 thing I CAN'T get over is the crippled simult pads. I've given it a fair shot, but this system is honestly poor for sequencing layered drums. WHICH is basically what I use the MP for.

Has anyone tried using Patterns and Pattern view programming with simult pads? Good luck, lol. You're only editing one of the sounds that is simulted. Sounds terrible, worthless.

And how cool is that Pad Event Move to Other Track feature? Great, except for the fact that I have to use the feature 4 times in a row for any pad that is simulted. Awesome.

I would love if JJ ends up doing anything more to OS2, but I'm not waiting for it. OS2 remains the OS for MPC power users. I'll have no problem forgetting about the cutesy arp and chord modes introduced in XL. When I really think about it, the only thing I'll miss in the long run is Filter 2.

I have one more bug to report for XL, and after that I wash my hands of it and convert all my programs to OS2. (Thanks for reading my rant, I feel much better already, haha.)

OS 2: PIMPED NOT GIMPED !

regarding more features for os 2. i've got a couple new small os 2 requests that i'm gonna send JJ's way. when i do i'm gonna remind him that there are a bunch of us OS 2 users here just waiting to throw our money at him for a few OS 2 upgrades. we'll see what he says.

me too, but there were some little things that ended up in os 2xl that were originally requested for os 2 that would be quite nice to have ( customizable MAIN & NUMERIC keys & PAD TO TRACK are good examples ). JJ already wrote the code so no harm in dropping it into os 2 if it is at all possible.

You know what? Forget the $15 from me. I'll throw down $100 for just the Numeric Customize and Pad Event Move to Track. But like I said, I'm not holding my breath for anything... OS2 is looking real strong compared to where JJ OS is heading.

I still love JJ, but I have to admit that I am back to Version 2. I'm still downloading the updates for xl, but when I read what has been fixed... It just doesn't seem to effect any of the things that need attention. I have really enjoyed the last year and a half with constant new features, and I really hope it's not over! It just seems that JJ is moving on to his new PC sequencer. I don't blame him. This man has to support himself, and there are 2 great OS for the 1k. I also imagine that he will continue to fix more bugs until he has a solid os in the xl version. I really think that if this plants a seed in the right person, it could really change the way hardware Os's are handled... Peace.

Please Sooty G!!! Just insist on the sequence move for Os2 as well. It is the most important feature for me.
I'am still on XL, but will move on Os2 again for most of my works(Qlink...).

Can somebody enlighten me a lil bit about the new simult situation? Because I seldom used simult before, so I don't know in which way it was changed really. So far, this hasn't affected my workflow. But I really miss the ability to have swing and shift assigned on the qlink faders, which you cannot do in os2xl, but it has been moved to the grid edit mode now. But haven't quiet integrated it in my workflow

Jeah, I'm back to OS2, too ;)

But I think i'll keep swiching between both OS, especially for creating Programms the XL had some relly nice tools (Zero-Crossing, Auto Cromatic Assignment) - i've tried and the PRG-Files are compatible with OS2, so this should be no problem.

Ok, no more X-Fading, so i'll have to loop my samples again (or use wavelab to create an x-fade on the computer), but x-fading had serveral bugs in os2xl anyway. ( viewtopic.php?f=25&t=110761 )

I used filter 2 a lot for Lo-Cuts, so that the sounds fit better in the mix... I'll miss that a lot :(
