hi im new to mpc, so sorry if this is a stupid question. i just got my 2500 running jj 3.08 but cant for the life of me get loops to continue playing without holing the pad down. i've got the pad set to note on and loop set to on under the trim menu.
thanks in advance.

'Note On' means you have to hold the pad down for the sound to continue playing. I've forgotten what the other option is called ( :? been a long day!) but you want the other one for loops.

Did your MPC come with a manual? You'll get flamed a lot for asking basic :?: like that here.

What you mean is an Loop-Funktion like on the Roland SP 404, but as far as i know this is not possible on the mpc.
Maybe you could use the audio track, load the sample in there, set the pattern-length and speed so that it fits the length ob the sample, then set loop to "all" and play back the pattern.
Depends on what you want to do with this loop.

try holding the pad that has your sample with the "note on" function activated, go to the track mute screen (while holding pad down) then hit the main screen button and release pad... this little bug(i think) works well in every jjos on the mpc1000 but i don't know if it will work with the 2500, still it wouldn't hurt to try it out.
