chop/loop/time stretch

hi
im very new with the mpc
but there are a few things i dont understand, maybe y'all can give me sum answers
i browsed through the unlimited youtube instructionsvideos, but so far no concrete answers

1. Looping a Sample. i played the drums first and then i want to insert the sample. The loop didnt fit on the drums, so i have to timestretch? Is that: trim screen->edit->time Stretch-> tempo, and then find the bpm of the sample that'll be displayed in the timestretch edit mode as original tempo...and do i have to set the new tempo to the bpm tempo that's tuned in the sequencer mode.?

2. My drums are finished, but ive chopped up my sample disproportionate, now it's difficult for me to play in a dope melody. Do i have to change the tempo thourgh timestretching for my chops to the tempo that's set in the sequencer mode?

3. Is it always common to timestretch sample dependable on the bpm that's set in the seq mode?

i hope it's understandable
i've tryed a lot, maybe im not a quick learner, but i have to figure out how to fit a loop and chops nice on the drumloop...
so far my melody sounds krooked in a negative way, the whole assemble of melody and drums doesnt fit

try to assess the tempo of the loop first, by placing it on a pad, triggered on the first down beat, adjust the tempo till it repeats well, thats the tempo u need to use as a basis for 'chopping' the loop. use the 'chop' function, and it will ask for the original tempo, set that to the tempo u found when testing the loop. then can either timestretch it FROM the original to the NEW desired tempo, or even chop it using the Patched Phrase function, this will let u run the "phrases" of the loop over the beats u made, and regardless of the tracks' tempo, it will be 'locked' with any tempo, and still play the original pitch.

Maybe it's because im not from the us or uk, but i dont understand it...

triggered on the first down beat?? how'd u mean?
and how can i adjust the tempo till it repeats well??

if i select the chop function in the trim menu, it didnt ask me for the original tempo...? how come?

is there an helpfull tutorial for this on youtube or something?? cause i cant find it

ok sorry - too much info at once.

what i was trying to say was this.

to find out what tempo your sample will play smoothly, its an easy trick to load the sample onto a pad. record a track with the pad being hit at the very start of a sequence. so the sample will play over and over, now adjust the sequence tempo until the sample sounds like its playing smoothly with a nice start and end.

then that should be the tempo you need to remember when you use a timestretch command (later).

now go to 'trim', find that sample, hit 'edit', then 'timestretch' , it will ask for the original tempo, and the 'new' tempo u want it changed to. - thats one way.

or you can go 'trim' find the sample, go 'edit' , 'chop' and follow the instructions there to split it up into 'slices', or a 'patched phrase', (slices will be saved as lots of smaller bits in a new program, but 'patched phrase' will keep the bits kind of "together" in one patched phrase sample - but will allow the bits to be 'flexible' - ie: stretching when run at any sequence tempo and keep the feel of the original pitch).... but for this you will also be asked to enter the original tempo, to get the calculations right.
