ok i was teaching my friend how to use his 2500 long story short he says its to complicated he wants to get rid of it to get an mv 8800. now he selling me the mpc he is still paying for for 700. ok i got an mpc1000 my question is does the 2500 jj os2xl have the simult pad thing or the automation thing they took out on the jj os2xl for the 1000 or are the both os's exactly the same with the same prob everyone is having. should i buy it i love mpcs and i kno its not that much of a difference but i like the flip screen on it.oh hes selling it with the carrying case and all the upgrades.what do you think should i buy it.

your friend should now the mv is probably more complicated than the mpc, its certainly got a whole load of other features... but then you probably dont want him to know that!
it definitely wont be noticeably "easier".

anyway.. 2xl is missing old simult and additive qlink recording for the 2500. theres a small hope that this might change... but you can still use os2 for the 2500.

also, the 1000 and 2500 are pretty much the same machine, if you prefer bigger pads and more outputs then go for it.. me personally id stick with 1000 and spend the money on something else.

yeah ur right i really dnt need it but its jus the price is so tempting and i love mp's. yeah hes on his own with the mv i dnt care. n i jus got the new pad upgrade too. the thing is i hear ppl saying when they put the new pads something stops working or some other shiit. i want a well built machine somthing i dnt always have to be repairing. but if there exactly the same ill save my money and wait to see if they add a feature to the mpc 5000 that will make me go out and buy it.

can i jump in here and ask a question just cuz of the title of this thread?
how is the crossfade looping on xl? if all i want is crossfade looping and the ability to arrange my seqs in the order i choose, do you think it's worth the 100+ dollar upgrade?

I would suggest a mpc-1000 unless you NEED the extra outputs and midi ins
p.s. i sold my MV for a 2500, i dont regret it... at all.
