effects

so what about some new effects?
we are limited to have 2 effects and thats cool and you can resample everything....
what effects do we need ?

cubase has a nice effect called cloner
where he ' clones' the voices and you can detune any cloned voice thats would be cool for resampling....

that's not an fx but i'd really like non destructive sample reverse in program mode .
that would great to have some king of autoglitch effect like the supatrigga plugin for the audio tracks but that's asking for too much .

a while back i sugessted having a side chain option to the compressor, one eg:
use the kick trigger the compressor and pulse/pump you samples
very useful feature in compression
Still wish we could get it.

they effects are probably processed on a DSP chip, and that chip would probably have to be programmed independently from the OS, and then the OS would probably have to be rewritten to make use of the new effects on the DSP, of course this is just speculation but.... it probably isn't an easy hack n slash into the OS :shock:

personally with multiple outs and zero latency monitoring sound interfaces I prefer to route my dry sounds into logic and use effects within the DAW, which also lightens the load on the MPC. (please anti-computer-ites don't take offense) :mrgreen:

sidechain would be fantastic...i'd use it to get the cymbals to duck under the kick every now & again - particularly on d&b beats, it gives the whole thing a little more punch (on top of everything else!).

Side-chaining would be nice, but for not much money at all (£120 in england, probably around $150 in the states) you can pick up a DBX 266xl compressor/gate which does a great job of side-chaining. It's a lush bit of gear for the money, it's the smaller version of the DBX 160 which was used on a ton on joints throughout the years.

Anyway, it's nice to have a bit of rack-gear; impresses the ladies:

Lady: "What's that thing?!"
You: "Oh just some shit NASA lent me - ain't no thing girl."
