I would say it depends on your workflow. I changed mine since I got OS2XL. I used to "fill in" squares on OS1 depending on the TC resolution. In my opinion the grid edit mode in OS2XL is more thought for NO QUANTIZE and then readjusting from the grid. (For me it's still lacking a level of ZOOM IN though). Anyway the functions like velocity and so on are still there but you have to press overdub first and move the cursor to an event.

Anyway you'll make your own opinion by yourself.

thanks for the input bro.

i'm REALLY comfortable with os1, but i just want to make sure i'm getting the most out of my mp and not gonna miss any os1 funtions. adsr & instrument pgm sound nice.

was anyone else in the same boat as i want to comment.

Not in the same boat but similar. I upgraded from free jj to XL and haven't really looked back since. I wish someone would write a decent manual though as my patience wears thin with the online manual very quickly!

I'm definitely missing a few tricks, but that will come in time. The most important thing is I really enjoy the workflow and ease of use. 8)
