hey forum
im using 1000bk with old pads and jjos 2xl ver16
my problem is this no matter how soft or hard i hit
the pads i get full level volume. on step edit the velocity,s
are varied but the recorded volume is at full level
there is no difference whether full level is off or on
ive played with the pad settings but no difference
ive booted up jj os1 and 2 and they work fine its only xl thats doing this
i had a good search but cant find a solution
i must be a setting im missing if anyone can shed some light
on this id be grateful
PS
when in the pad screen adjustments to vel,sen ,pad on etc
all work as far as the visuals go but i just get full level from
the outputs
thanks again

if you haven't already: hold down the ERASE key when you start up the MPC.
this will reset all the system settings. you should always do this when you switch between OS's.
you'll get some weird behavior/bugs if you don't.

if that doesn't help, check your settings in the VELOCITY column in the PROGRAM screen.
it sounds like you have them all cranked up to 100. you could have done this by accident or the default could have gotten scrambled when you switched OS's (which is why you want to use the ERASE tip i mentioned above).

your velocity levels are still too high in my opinion.
Turn those 80's down to zero if you want to get full velocity response from the pads.

When you have the value set to 80, your saying "constrain my velocity to between 80 and 100". So even if you just lightly tap the pads, the lowest velocity you'll get is 80, which is pretty high. Get it? I always just set that velocity setting to the lowest possible to get the most expression out of the pads.

Don't forget to check that manual!

thanks again sooty

but when i turn the level down to zero i cant hear anything
when i hit the pads even with full level on!!
the thing is that no matter what setting there on its the same
as full level if the level is at 10 its so quiet and so is full level

if i have full level on and tap the pad while turning the data wheel
on the level setting the volume changes!
this shouldnt effect the volume if its on full level

is this a bug?
maybe xl dosent work well with the old pads?

i should get the new pads soon (been waiting 2 months now)
i hope this will sort it
