My 'ideal' new feature for the MPC

There is 1 feature missing from the MPC which really kills my enjoyment of using the machine.

Why is that when your song is arranged in the MPC you can't have a "Save Session" function which writes all your track data to audio on seperate tracks. You could then import these files into your DAW and complete your song. No synching issues and no timing problems with your tracked out audio.

The much maligned FL Studio software has this function for sure and I suppose it can be done with other software.

I would love to see this feature being added to the MPC or JJ OS. For me....tracking out is the single most annoying thing about the MP. I can never get it 100% right and for complex songs it is a real pain.

Even if this function took 30 minutes to run on the MP (taking into account the tiny processor) it would still be great for me.

What do you guys think? Would you find this function useful? Is the MP processor capable of doing this function?

this has been thought of. (besides the weak cpu as u mentioned)

the way it is done, from a professional stand point(since more pro studios have the capability rather than home studios on average), is to use the multiple outs on the mpc.

With Sync setup correctly and assigning sounds to specific outs on a sound card with multiple ins, you can drop like 8 tracks at a time. so even a 24 track song would only require THREE passes. or six passes with a 4 input sound card like a delta 44 (150 bucks). even still with a single stereo in on your soundcard and stereo out on your mpc, if you just properly set up Sync, this is no problem.

Whats limiting that is the puny 128 Ram.

Even though it is unlikely to happen, there might be a hope with JJ sequencer (the only reason why its sequencer could sell in my opinion).

Couldn't "song to sample" be used for this?
One had to mute all tracks but one at a time. Making one conversion for every track.
A bit tedious but it could work.
But maybe it wouldn't align perfectly in the DAW, I haven't tried it.

It's worth a try. I'll give it a try after I'm done taking care of a few things.

Song to Sample is a great feature and I use it all the time as a workaround for the track out problem but it is not perfect.

I guess the MP processor is just not capable at the moment. If they brought a new machine with the "Save Session" I would be very excited.

This won't happen because of RAM limitations. Look at how much recording time you have left over after loading your samples. Now divide this by the number of tracks you want to track out. That's how long your song can be. Probably less than a minute.

The only way this could work is if it wrote directly to card/hd... which would be awesome.

Definitely not a dumb idea, alot of us are waiting on this as an alternative to tracking down
the traditional way...... bring it on, it's the only thing that would make me give JJ more money.

within 3 minutes i have my whole beat recorded in seperated tracks in my DAW(and i just use my l/r main out)..

talking about lazy people... what's next? an integrated ''Dilla'' or "Premier'' button on your MPC to make a beat just like them? pffff....
