Alright peeps
I'm pretty sure I already know the answer to this, as I look it up pretty much annually, but has anyone come up with a way to record audio live and have it loop on the fly? Same as looper pedals do?
It's real annoying cos with the audio tracks on JJ's OS, I can start something recording, and just before the end of the loop hit stop and start again immediately and it pretty much works like a looper, but obviously that's no use for a live setting. But it just shows that it really should be possible, even to program a millisecond of a stop before it starts looping again if it really needs to do that to process the audio.
It bugs me cos it's really the only thing that my MPC doesn't do that I really really need it to - I'm thinking of adding a Kaoss pad to my setup so I can use that to sample on the fly, but it's annoying that I'm gonna have to fork out another chunk of cash for something my MPC1000 should be capable of.
Even if there was some way to pre-assign a recording to a program/pad, so I could set up before hand some midi triggers and have it so the second the audio is finished recording it drops into a program, assigns to a pad, and gets triggered by the pre-placed midi note so starts playing back immediately.
Any ideas like that to kinda hack a live-looping thing?
