Is it possible to have some kind of virus on an mpc?? is it possible that a computer virus will adapt to an mpc??look i have copied many things from my computer onto my mpc and I had a lot of viruses on my computer. Recently my mpc started behaving in a wierd wa, I'mean some things work differently than they used to. I have formated my mpc card but with no results still my mpc behaves weird from time to time- you know some functions do not work properly. but not always It's like one time they work and the other time they don't - very strange. is there any possibility to somehow install the system oncemore - similar to how you do it with computer"windows" or whatever?? please help

Well.. I guess you can kinda consider the Akai OS a virus.
that is.. if a virus can be explained as :

"a piece of software that is currently preventing my hardware from performing normally, and without bugs, let alone providing a streamlined work flow that would allow me to accomplish any task easily"

If thats the case, then you dont have a virus.. you just have the AKAI OS.

other than posting HERE in the JJ section.. you make no mention of JJOS..
so are you actually using it?

So whats actually wrong with your mpc? You're getting advice on what to do (e.g. reinstall OS) but your description of the symptoms couldn't be more vague.

- Recently my mpc started behaving in a wierd wa,

- I'mean some things work differently than they used to.

- you know some functions do not work properly. but not always It's like one time they work and the other time they don't -

- explain the reason for the recent weird behaviour of my mpc...maybe it's just starting to faulen.

If you elaborate on these points I'm sure you will get more constructive help than "you cant get a virus on an mpc, you moron".
But I'mean maybe you're right, perhaps your mpc is just faulen it does sound like its behaving in a weird wa.

JJ wrote an MPC virus so we will be forced to switch to his new PC sequencer if we still want that JJ look and feel.

oh shit must laughed too but i think its not really dumb thought

my pc has problems with virus , malware and something kinda that shit ago 2 weeks.
and my mpc crashed down today. again and again. (post the problem at the mpc500 section)-
and hell ya - it does weird moves too.
(no...not flying lotus like beats... :P :( )

i think ...harddisk is harddisk ... and a MPC system is a system like a PC.
it's a lot of viruses outthere...some are special for systems like windows or macs or wtf ... but some are straight to damage a harddisk.

think about that...
