Bug Fixes: XL Ver1.19 12-NOV-2009
---------------------------------------------
1. [TRIM]
[CHOP]
ZOOM = 1/2
"blinking part" when PAD11 is hit is not well shown.

2. If WAV saved by the JJ-sequencer is loaded, a start point and an end point may be strange.

The user using JJ-Sequencer needs to use this version.

hmmm, looks like lots of fixes with a view to getting jj-sequencer compatible with the os

I've tried JJSeq, but much prefer using my mpc2500... everything is faster on the mpc... all the buttons, pads, scroll-wheel, etc are all conveniently close together for extreme fast editing. JJSeq just seems slower and less convenient to use.
S'pose it's alright for people without an mpc though.

Bring the JJOS updates next please JJ!

Overdub audio tracks/direct record plz.
More Q-link functionality would be good too, although I remember reading that that is a tough one due to certain existing functionality.

Wouldn't it be simpler for JJ to just add a few features to OS2 like X fade loop, quantize strength and chromatic assignment if the Q link thing is so hard to implement on 2XL? I know a lot of people on here would love that!

Its so frustrating because with a few tweaks to the OS the MPC with 2XL could be perfect-(already is compared to Akai OS). I'm sure JJ could of done it by now if he invested the time instead of that toy pre Atari sequencer.

I would pay £100 striaght away for an OS that features all the stuff on 2 and XL

Dealing with samples should be easier-naming,chopping,loading,saving,making programs and sending to the MPC for final production then sending back to PC for archival.

we've already done an extensive petition for JJ to do just that ( final improvements to os 2 ). i got a lot of people here to sign that they would be willing to pay a little bit for a new improved os 2 that has some of the features of 2 xl, but it would still have the working q-links.

i emailed him the request directly (we did a vote here in the forum on the most requested features) and while he never said "no", he did say that he was to busy to consider it at the time. that was many months ago.

maybe we should hit him with the request again. it seems the only thing he's interested in now as far as the MPC is concerned is getting it compatible with his JJ sequencer, which nobody wants.

There are so many things that would make jj os better than compatability with jj sequencer...
We have mpc's - we don't need jj sequencer.... :-(

I can do everything very fast already inside my mpc. Having everything at your fingertips and seconds away at the click of a button and turn of a knob is why it is already so fast and easy to use an mpc. When in a 'creative flow' things can be done very fast and 'bang' you can drop the edit str8 into your tune within seconds without going through the rigmarole of import/export to/from PC/MAC. When working on a tune, the last thing I wanna do is start shifting things to/from my PC as it would stifle my creative flow. Everything is at your fingertips, under your hands and ready to go.
This may be the reason that mpc owners don't really see the point in JJSeq (judging by the poll conducted in this forum), including me, but I can only state my viewpoint.
JJSeq might be handy for setting up full programs from your sample library, but there is already free software out there for the PC/MAC that does that.
It may be good for setting up full-blown INSTR programs though. Guess we'll have to see what the release edition is like.

I have to agree the JJ Seq is Slow compared to Using the MPC.

The only thing I see good about it is using it to listen to archived projects and or setting up projects and programs on the PC.

I get a fruity loops flashback when using it. not a good thing.

Yeah, it's pretty disappointing. I hope the future updates arent all just to improve compatability between the MPC and the software. We should be able to chose between using our MPCs with a kich ass, complete, bug-free, fully functional OS or using our MPCs along with the software (as needed) to improve certain aspect of our workflow. The software shouldn't be the answer to an incomplete OS.

I was thinking that maybe the reason that JJ hasn't focused on finishing OS2XL is because he is going to have to continue to make changes to the code in OS2XL as he works on finishing and de-bugging the software. It makes sense, there's no point perfecting OS2XL now if everytime JJ updates the software he needs to go back and change something in the OS' code so that they're still compatible (he would be doing twice the work). Maybe it's just easier to work on both as he goes along since every change that is made to one effects the other. Im just hoping that eventually by the time the software is finished OS2XL will also be fully functional and bug free on its own (maybe with a few extra features of it's own) with out the need of the sequencer. If this isn't JJ thought process and he's planning to just leave OS2XL as it is (except for making it work with the software) then that'll be a big let down. For some reason I don't think JJ is thinking of fully completing both, if he was he would have said something (unless he did and I missed it) specially since it's obvious that we all want answers as to why OS2XL isn't complete and many of us have even said that we wont buy the sequencer because of this. We'll just have to wait and see and hope for the best.
