Master Level of SPDIF OUT

Hello,

I connect the MPC to my audio system with SPDIF...

But the "MAIN VOLUME" knob does not do anything on the
SPDIF OUT volume :(

Is it possible to control the SPDIF OUT volume ?


(The only place I've found is [MODE] [OTHER] [MASTER LEVEL],
but is there a short way to do this DIRECTLY from the main screen ?
like [DATA JOG WHEEL] + ?? )

Why would you downgrade the sound quality in this way? When you turn down the volume digitally it's like downgrading the bit depht. Turn down the volume on the target the digital sound i send to.

Well, i need this, because the MPC is connected to my amplifier *only* with SPDIF.

It is only in the "work time" that I want to be able to change volume quicly on the MPC.

---> during the "work time" when I search the samples, when I chop them, etc.
I would need to quickly be able to put volume up & down with a knob.
(when you pre-listen many samples that are in a FOLDER, the difference of volume is
often rather big !)

[[ Of course, during the "recording time", I would like to **let*** the SPDIF digital volume at
maximum.... because to put lower volume would be like decreasing the bit depth, I know
this !! ]]

yes i did . but did you see what i meant ?

i said that during the "research of sound" process, when I'm looling for samples when
I [LOAD] for example, there are huge differences of sound level. So at this stage,
it is VERY USEFUL to be able to quickly change the volume with a knob...

(Changing the master volume -6db, -12dB won't be useful here... : one would have to
go quit the [LOAD] mode each time we want to change volume !! )


So I give up and stop using SPDIF when I "work" with the MPC : I use headphones
instead so I can quicly change volume with the knob...

Yeah, digital is straight volume, volume knob is analog.

I often turn the overall volume up in my Mp to +6 just to make my Mp louder. Am I degrading the sound quality by doing this?

Bro mine only goes to zero...

But anyway.. there is nothing to lose by turning up the master level unless u get distortion. I tend to be very safe at -12, and can turn it up to -6 if I don't have too much going on at once.

get a rolls headphone amp, plug that in ya mpc headphoner jack then ya phones into it, control ya phones volume from the rolls, and a nice set of close cupped 3,000 miliwatt handling phones and audition sounds with those,

the mpc built in headphone amp sounds low, but you will hear your audition sounds better in ya ear and quick volume adjust on the hp amp in front of you
