Hi there,

I run MPC1000 JJOS with x3 Roland PD8 "Dual" trigger pads & TMC-6 Midi converter on my acoustic drum set. I played a show this week and all my samples and sequences were all sorted and assigned to the pads ready to go no problems.

BUT just before showtime i did another quick test & one pad that had x2 different samples (x1 on rim, x1 on centre) ended up having x1 sample assigned to both "centre" & "rim" of pad so i lost a sample?? super weird!

I didn't have enough time to figure it out and forged on but am still unsure what happened?? If its the pad or MPC? the other pads work fine? I got all new planet wave cables too.

Any assistance would be great! Peace.

i assume the rim and centre of the pad can send different midi notes?

with that in mind the problem is either:

youve accidently changed a pad sample assignment so that both pads now play the same sound- the midi note from the rim goes to one pad , the midi note from the centre goes to the other pad, but both pads have the same sample on them.

(in os2 and xl it is now possible to reassign the pads samples from the main screen, and therefore easier to do by accident)

the other possibility is that youve changed a setting form the roland machine and both centre and rim are sending the same midi note, (ive never used one so this is pure speculation on my part)
