Forum to discuss all matters relating to the MPC1000 and MPC2500 operating systems created by 'JJ' (all versions).

First of all, I want to tell all the MPC forum members I'm sorry for trying to defend JJ when he really didn't deserve it. The members of this forum deserves better and thats why I did this post.

I think it was T7 who said I was clueless and I will admit it, when I joined the forums I had no clue what was going on.

I will say this again:The JJ Sequencer has the ability to become the greatest arranger, but it will never be without the members of the MPC forums blessing it and giving it feedback to improve it.

The reason I bought the JJ OS was because of the MPC forums and the people on these forums.

You see, I wasn't going to send money over seas to a potential fly-by-night company, but the MPC forums made me feel at ease.

Not only that, the people here are super helpful and we all deserve more.

We are all getting played here in these forums. Let me say this again"We are all getting played in these forums". I wonder if "Nym" and Stan Steez realized this.

I sent an e-mail to jj about having a wave track (and view), then merging all sub track waves on to the main track to save time to render to a DAW. Yea.. I told him that midi sync is old.

Does he say thank you. No, he just acts like I never e-mailed him, then has the audacity to post my idea in the forum like someone else came up with it.Really, JJ do you think I was not going to say anything.

Let me send you a reminder JJ. All ideas and comments placed on these forums and e-mails belong to their respective owner because of copyright laws.

Yup I understand the JJ Soft Company now. Fist you jack up the price on the MPC software you created for Akai, knowing Akai was not going to pay that outrageous price, just so you can sneak into the MPC OS business. Hmm...

Then you get a free Design and Research and development team here on the MPC forums.
Hmm....

Also, when people ask you for a feature that improves the audio track features you just ignore them. Hmm...

JJ do you understand why people dont want to buy

I see why people are not willing to help you sell the JJ Sequencer.Treating people like garbage will get you no where.

Look how the MPC Fourums got him this far and do you think he will share any money. He need to give back something to the forums and its members.

Genius...more like a joke...or a bitter...

The sampler playback was built around Macaw.

Look at his first design with no direction.Image

MPC Maid is another victim of being jacked for ideas. Its time to pay the MPC forums for their hard work.

If he doesn't want to pay us lets get our own programmers and make the ultimate MPC- Hybrid. MPC Forums should be getting paid for their services.Members should get a royalty for their idea, especial Nym and Stan Steez.

No more monopoly....it's time to share....

I can't believe I took all this heat for a person like that.

its quite common for more than one person to come up with same idea. for instance most people here have used other machines with nice features and suggested them to JJ.

most people are happy if their feature requests are included - after all JJ has had tons of requests over the years- many of them unrealistic.

tracking out mpc beats is the number one reason why people here might be interested in JJseq - and im sure JJ has had many requests to make this possible. At the moment such facilities dont look likely in the short term.

as for sample/playback options - you cant reinvent the wheel. you can look at every audio editor out there- including the mpc's own trim screen and draw comparisons.

MPC Maid came up off of MPC1000 PGM Maker!

Almost Every program developed in this day and time is usually based off another.

They borrow and create. Just like sampling.

Hmm...So, is it common for someone to come up with The Theory of Relativity. Ok who on this forums told JJ to render the tracks as waves on-the-fly in an e-mail?

Either way JJ didn't come up with it because if he did it would of been in the original plans. Now you will see him fundamentally change his design to accommodate an idea he never thought of and doesn't want to give back.. Its common curiosity to give something back in exchange of things-thank you or money are the two most commonly used items to give back.

I will be quick to admit no ideas and new, but obvious ideas are the ones that count. An obvious idea is not common and if you think rendering tracks on the fly is common to a MPC or a MPC PC Hybrid, you are sadly mistaken. If it was common JJ would of received word of this a long time ago, and placed it into his JJ OS series.

My point is not to say its my idea, my point is the MPC- forum and its members have created a catalyst for good or bad ideas to flourish. If you use it give credit. thank you, money or the names of the people who helped design the software, needs to be given.

Take a look at Stan Steez manual he attempts to give thanks to many people.JJ on the other hand is trying to give no credit at all. Do you think one man came up with all ideas in the JJ OSXL I think not.Look at the names in the feature request.

The point of this thread is to pay homage or give back to the creative thinkers on this forum and we start with the MPC forum, Nym, and Stan Steez. These are the pioneering minds behind JJ getting to this point.

One last point, JJ is on the verge on making the worlds greatest music arranger (because of this forum and its members) for MPC and PC owners. It will not get their if we don't continue to help him. I'm saying we have to look at how we are being treated now, and proceed in the best direction.

P.S. I look at my Akai MPC as a Harley owner.

your idea is not original, i.e. you were not the first person to think of it.

perhaps you should make a new os for the mpc1000?

Yea, thats a good idea and I will give you credit for it unlike JJ. On top of that, the new os we build here in the MPC forums will get features put in like "Direct record"

Lord Toranaga this is not about me or you it's about us, here at the MPC Forums.

c'mon man, give it up.

you really need to explore some other software options out there. MPC Maid, Pad 187, etc... all of these 3rd party apps are better designed & less buggy than JJ seq. you'd be better off trying to get a more competent & experienced programmer to code a new app from scratch than waiting on the JJ sequencer to becomre the 'worlds greatest' anything.

i love JJ for what he has done for the MPC, but that doesn't change the fact that he is a relative newbie to programming (he was the junior assistant to the main akai os programmer) and has absolutely no concept of interface design. his efforts are best directed towards improving/fixing the JJ OS or if he doesn't want to do that then he should open source it.

Look at the MPC Maid's website and you will see credit going to the people who inspired him.

I agree, but if you sample all the time and never give any credit, you're bond to get caught.

Master Ceo, you even said on the forum you kept telling him about the screen resolution. That alone made the JJ sequencer 20% better. Even I will admit I didn't know obviously it was the screen resolution.I thought it was the font size.

Did JJ say thank you for making my program 20% better?

JJ does some things good like keeping the file size relatively small and the interface is very responsive. Also I can tell he's learning as he goes, which is a good thing. To me it looks like he is using primitives for graphics, which is fine for now, but will need a skin later.

MPC maid could be great also, but updates stopped.I must add, reaching out to him is an option, if he is up for the challenge of making the greatest MPC-PC software solution.

The main issues is, even when we debate the pros and cons of the JJ sequencer we are helping him...when we send him bug reports, we are helping him...when we ask for features( that he denies) we are helping him; all we get back is nothing. Sorry JJ it doesn't work that way.

Why do you think one of the reasons he doesn't speak to us on the forums are?One is so, he can pretend he's not using it to get ideas.

??? Ok wait .. lemme see if I got this now...

You are pissed at JJ.. JJ is a D!ck... he is stealing ideas from you/us and not giving any credit.. AND...........
.................................................
you still LOVE & support JJSEQ and foresee it to be the "worlds greatest" ?

LMFAO

OHH the Irony!

no :x

 lol. I feel you man, I just don't let little things break my stride. Been through way too much.

I'll put it like this... I now have a portable MPC 500/1k/25k file player/editor thanks to JJ.

I can play a sequence and record "What I hear" using Sound Forge on the go.

I can't be mad at that.

Disappointed is a better word

Triple-X wrote:JJ is a D!ck...

No comment... because I think it's more than one person calling the shots.

Triple-X wrote:he is stealing ideas from you/us and not giving any credit...

Using us to make the program more intuitive to reach mass appeal...Yea, no adda boy...no thank you...not even a hello on the boards we supply customer service (for free) for his product. [/quote]

I agree with Sooty G.... its no where near being the best or worlds greatest and it will never be without people backing it. Is it better than the first version....yes...Now ask yourself this...How did it become so much better than the first rendition...and the answer is... us..we the people on the MPC Forums.

I will love and support any good product he produces, only if he is willing to give back to the MPC forums and its members. People on these boards have been asking about the audio track feature, and he justs ignores them. You mean to tell me he can't take 5 minutes out of his day to reply to the forums.

It can't be worlds greatest if we don't help him.The greatest things if life are products of people working together...JJ is painting the me, myself and I picture and it's not right. There is nothing wrong being a pig...but when you're a hog you get slaughtered.

Triple-X wrote:OHH the Irony!

It sure is... one of the only guys that believed in him unconditionally from the start, has now seen the light.

Come on X... if we collaborated on a beat and I told the label I did the beat myself...and I get paid and blow up...I think you would be disappointed also.

I dont know what all this is about but the way I see it, I needed an OS, I paid JJ and got a working OS...thats all I needed.

You can always go back to the Akai OS....who cares if JJ doesnt send a thank you for a f*cking vase with roses for the ideas...ideas get bagged all the time...its not that serious...
