Is it possible to make bass lines on the mpc 1000? I don't want to buy a keyboard bass synth!

it sure is mate.

find a bass you like then sample it into the MPC, add your touches like filters etc and then hit 16 levels.

and you are ready

make a bass tone with a single cycle from a sample or draw a sine, triangle and square wave in a wave editor. turn loop on, set it to note on, ans set the delay to your liking. then turn 16 levels/tune on.
