Re-sampling Tip...

Some of you may know this, some may not. It's new to me, so I figured I'd Share.

Problem: After you resample you have to go into the trim screen and trim it up afterward because the start points aren't the same. If you are doing detailed work, it can be frustrating because you cant be SURE that your start points are the exact same as the original. (maybe this isn't a problem for you but... I digress)

Solution: Copy and paste the sound you want to resample to the first beat (1:00:00) of a blank track. Solo that track, go to any of your unused audio tracks and hit record. (make sure that record in is set to "main out") Viola. The sample is effectively resampled with the EXACT same start point. The resample is saved as "Take 1", go and name it whatever you want and assign it to a pad.

If you check the length of the audio Takes, you'll notice that they aren't all exactly the same. Good enough, but off by a few hundred samples. This can be attributed to slight variations in BPM over time for quite a few devices (including the MPC).

Really, I've never had a problem (Audibly at least) and I'm very picky about accuracy.

I haven't had a problem with it either... 100 samples out of 40,000+ (mine are usually around 100,000) is pretty small. I haven't heard anything audible that would make me think that there is an issue there.

Maybe this can be a re-sampling tip thread.

My MOST IMPORTANT tip is watch your master level (mode + other). It will make or break your resampling results.......
