WTF?? Loop stopping short when drums are playing ??

Peace forum, I'm so frustrated. My topic is self explanatory. I have a 2 bar loop playing and am using another program for the drums. Whenever i play my drums the lop mutes/ cuts off half way through. Please help. I'm really considering selling this machine and getting a 5000 because of all the freezing and buggin out like freezin when using drum roll sometimes but that's another post.

You mean that you have an audio track and a drum track playing which is 2 bars long??

Have you made sure that you are not reaching the polyphony limit?
Go to OTHER to see the polyphony usage in realtime.

I've never ever had JJOS freeze on me and I've been using it for 3 years. The 5000 doesn't come with all the JJOS niceities so I think you will be very, very disappointed if you got a 5000.

if u mean youre using the mpc as a playback only device (not sequencer) - i have same issues, it seems random though.

im sequencing very simple 4bar breaks from my mac, and using the mpc as outboard sample player.

every so often the sample stops part way through the loop. as if its being cut off by another pad, theres no pads playing except one sample at any time, although i HAVE set all eight of the samples to the same MUTE GROUP, and MONO ployphony.

could it be that the pads are triggering an erroneous ON state, like is adjustable in the OTHER / PAD preferences.

im going there now to investigate.

My melody samples are in a chopped in a program and im only using 1 pad from the chops as a loop and the drums are on a different program.

sorry for adding to the fray.


ive sorted it, as in, its not fixed, it wasnt broke.....

in the end i got so fed up with the problem of abruptly random stops to my loops, i used my Z8 instead, and the problem remains!, its obviously not my MPC being faulty, its my MAX programming in error somewhere....was triggering samples from MAX, and its not doing what it should.

sorry MPC i still love u, didnt mean to point the finger. hahah
