Any way to change the default note assign?

I've been syncing my Mp 1k to my Fantom lately and have had a little trouble having the keys trigger the pads in the right order. The strange thing is that some of the older programs that I have line up perfectly, but the programs I make now are all over the place. If I go into the MIDI/SYNC mode and hit F3 it has the default note settings. This is great, but there is no way to save your own default settings. I've tried to turn the Mp on holding erase to start from scratch, but this seems to be the true default setting. Since my older programs seem to match up, I assume that the settings were changed at some point. Is there something I'm missing? Why would the settings be all over the place? Anyone else having this problem?
