Buying a used 1000, identifying the model with the good pads

If I was going to get a used mpc 1000 how could I make sure that I buy the model with the better pads

are all black ones the ones with the better pads? Or are there blue and black ones with the new improved pads

no.
but the newer it is the more likely it has new pads.

yes. if people have bought the kit. same goes for older black models.


the only true tests:
1.wiggle a pad around- do other pads move with it? if yes then you have new pads
2. pinch the corner of either pad 1,4,13,or 16 if you can pull the corner tip out of the case you have the new pads- tuck it back in and be happy. the old pads wont move.
