Hi Friends
I am trying to locate what makes My MPC 1000 crash all the time..
it seems to work fine without my brand new CF card inserted( Sandisk 16GB extreme 3)
but once the CF is inserted, the MPC will crash at some point.

I have tried to format the CF. and the MPC sees the whole card and loads and saves fine.
I have changed OS back to AKAI OS and then back to JJ OS 1(4.99)
I have reinstalled the RAM .
I am running out of options ,and now i am thinking it has to do with the CF card.. :(

Does anybody have the same problems with 16 GB CF?

The only thing I can think of is to power up while holding the erase button to reset the system to it's defaults. It will also put your preferences back to their defaults also... Not a big deal by any means, just so you know. If this doesn't help, than just try lower cards. I don't use anything over 1gb, so that I can swap it with my Fantom and I never have any issues. I also can't help but think that large CF cards would cause problems. If they did work, wouldn't Akai use these as a selling point?

I will try you "erase" advice , but it seems that so many MPC 1000 users are working with 16 GB CF cards, without any problems .
