JJos XL qlink Question

Hello,

I just donwloaded and installed JJOS XL v1.27 onto my MPC2500. I have a question about using Qlinks.

Can I get 2 sliders performing different note variations. I read the JJOS manual and it states "Q2 is used when a note variation is set as Q1 and Q2. (Q1 does not work in this case)" and it says that everything except TEMPO and MIDI CC is a note variation. This would seem to say you can only have a single note variation parameter at a time.

Does this mean that I cannot have 2 sliders controlling note variation. For example slider 1=LPF and slider 2=Tune. This cannot be done? I would like to be able to perform and record sliders controlling Tune - LPF - S.Start - S.End all at the same time.

I want to edit both the s.start and s.end is there any way I can do that. Can I enter the variation in a way not using the sliders. Basically can I get around not being able to use the sliders to enters 2 layers of note variation on the same sample.

no, that is a basic akai limitation. only 1 realtime & 1 note on variation is allowed. look at the events in STEP EDIT and you can see what is going on in more detail.

but you can try overlapping things to a certain extent (in os2).
example: if you move sample start to a certain value, and then change the sample end value, it won't reset the sample start value (it will still stay were you first moved the slider to until you move the slider again). you just can't record the 2 different events SIMULTANEOUSLY in one NOTE ON event. make sense? you can get some very weird & glitchy results using this 'multiple pass' method.

BUT, this only works in os 2. if you try this in os2xl it WILL wipe out whatever the previous data was you recorded (as i detailed in the post i linked).

try installing os 2 and experiment with it a bit.

I read the os2 manual and see the qlinks behave differently. Suppose you can't have everything.
