I went to the website and clicked on download the JJ os XL and it just comes up as some giant text programming mumbojumbo. Can someone help me find this file i need to get JJ os XL. I got the free Os no prob. its just the XL thats not letting me download anything.

I'm not very educated on this as I was just looking into this myself for the first time, but from what I read it sounds like you have to install them in order -

1. install the free version

2. buy the os1 for $49

3. then you can either buy the os2 for $49, and then buy the os2xl for an extra $15.

or,

4. Just buy the os2xl direct for $64 after the os1 is already installed.

Either way, it sounds like it'll cost about $115 to get from the free version up to the latest os2xl. You have to buy the passwords though, and I'm not sure how to do that because I havn'te paid for mine yet. Hope that helps, but I'd double check with someone that has actually installed in already.

try the link otis orteeze gave above
Edit: ok, I see you said you're using a 2500, so it's this instead:
http://www7a.biglobe.ne.jp/~mpc1000/mpc2500/os.htm

that's the page you get if you click on the "A Mac user's download site is here" link, which still might give you a page of unreadable text (THAT IS THE FILE YOU WANT!) but has some instructions for Mac users at the top.

if it still comes up as a text file, just save it to the right name (e.g. mpc1000_xl130.os2) then you have the file.

or instead of just clicking on it, do option+click and it should let you save
that's this key and then click:

the problem is that JJ's site send the file with the wrong Content-type:
Code: Select allGET /~mpc1000/mpc2500/mpc2500_xl130.osx HTTP/1.0
Host: www7a.biglobe.ne.jp

HTTP/1.0 200 OK

o m g.
All these people having problems downloading it on Mac and it just turns out that JJ's page is incompatible with a certain browser.
Which browser does it not work with? Safari?
There needs to be a warning up on JJ's site about this for Mac user's. Either that or his site code needs a good fixin.
