Soloing out instruments in song mode

I have come from a XL, in the XL you could solo a instrument hit song mode and multitrack your beats. On the 1K with the JJ os i tried that and it does not work i have to go into track mute and mute everything on the beat but that one track in every sequence. Tell me im doing it wrong cause that takes for ever!

How are you guys tracking multitracking your beats ?

convert the song to a sequence, then you can solo tracks.

Well there is the way you were doing it too, so that's two ways.

Or you could use each of the 6 outs to track out different parts of the song.

I'd say that converting the song to a sequence is probably your quest way though.
