static from main outs

I have a black mpc1000 w/ jjos2xl and whenever I plug my mpc into an interface ( I've tried a few) through my main outs or my headphone jack I get static even when mpc is just on and not playing.... Any thoughts?

you say it happens on the headphone jack too - do you hear static if you plug headphones into the headphone jack?

what if you plug some other sound source into the interface, do you get static then?

basically, try to isolate where the problem is by testing the individual parts. is it the interface? is it the mpc? is it the cables?

I've owned 5 mpc1000s all of which I've had the same issue with I have tried different cords (1/4'-1/4' and 1/4'-rca)all purchased new from guitar center, different interfaces all with the same results. I thought maybe it was just the main outs so I ran a stereo 1/4' from my headphone jack to a stereo 1/4' in my interface and same deal. I don't hear static from my headphones or when i plug it into my stereo, only when I'm trying to record/listen to it through a daw???? Its getting fairly frustrating. I've purchased a ton of new gear just to have to resample inside my mpc still.

After the second one I would think its safe to say its not the MPC. Hows the power coming in to the house? Are there any power conditioners in your chain?

I live in a house that was built in 1927 and I doubt its been rewired since, I run the power through a surge protector, but that's about it.. Do you think lack of a power conditioner could be the problem? If so where can I pick one up and what type of specs/price should I look for? Much appreciated in advance

I dont want to say that a power conditioner will solve your issues but the home's electrical system is usually overlooked. One of the conditioners I have has a volt meter built in. My last apartment was plagued with drops/spikes in voltage so I always made sure that I was plugged into a backup battery as well as a conditioner. But remember this is all speculation. Im just throwing ideas out there. There can be a faulty piece of gear give you this issue as well.
