Real time pitchshift+timestretch....easy breezy?

Before I drop cash on OS1 and the deuce, I just wanna know how smooth the real time TS and PS is. The biggest question is do you still have to find the BPM first for it to work properly? On the akai OS and JJ 3.11 that was my biggest obstacle and I've yet to get a timestretch to come out clean without massive distortion.
The second question is that it works on all samples you have loaded correct? I saw something on the comparison chart that said Input Thru.. does that mean you can only Real time PS+TS with what's comin through in RECORD mode?

It's really smooth as you don't have to think about it at all. There simply is no realtime timestretch available, and the only realtime pitch shift available is the one in input thru which won't be very usable while sequencing.

Get Live or wait for the Octatrack if you need that stuff.

Wow I just realized all the vids i was watching are in audio play. Thanks for the heads up.. but what a bummer. I guess I need to give it more practice, but it seems like whatever setting or tempo I give a sample it always comes out trash.
