hi,

i just bought OS2XL, was using Akai OS before that

i'm not really liking the QLink behaviour, and from reading around here, it sounds like OS2 will probably be better for me

i see some reference here to some sort of procedure of holding down erase when switching OS... a couple of quotes:

"last week I was doing a lot of OS switching, so maybe that was the problem. Maybe I hadn't started 2XL with erase held down."

"wouldn't love to much to break the workflow by betatesting and erase-reinstall OS1-OS2-OS2XL-OS1, etc routine"

can someone please let me know if there is some sort of hold-down-erase-procedure i need to do in order to switch from OS2XL to OS2?

thanks

OK how about this?:

"Q: I've just installed the JJ OS and the MPC behaves weird. What can I do?
A: Reset the MPC to factory defaults: Turn off your MPC, hold [ERASE], turn it on."

Yes, my after switching OS my MPC is behaving weird.... but I have a 2500 and it doesn't have an erase button... So what's the procedure for resetting the 2500 to factory defaults?

thanks

People are usually willing to help if you at least give the impression that you have first tried to help yourself. If your MPC2500 does not have an Erase button, it's different to any I've ever seen.

Take a deep breath, open your eyes and then look under the Q-Link sliders in the bottom left corner of the unit....
