DVD drive + JJ OS

Just a quick question -i am thinking about buying a cdrom drive for my mpc and i am not sure abou few thinks which are not in the jj os xl manual...
1)is it possible to load wavs from the mpc?
2)is it possible to sample from the cd (like you insert an audio cd and you can sample the tracks on it)
3)it is not possible to save(burn) sequencies, wavs etc to the cd/dvd media - am i right?

there are lot of topics about getting the right OEM drive but they are all outdated and links to the stores are mostly not working any more - could anyone suggest me the right drive?

1) not sure what you mean. you mean load wav's from the CD? you need to load them to memory first
2) yes
3) you can. if you save a song to a sample, you can then burn it (if you have the correct model of burner installed). not sure about sequencies though - possibly not

I meant loading *.wav from the cd inot the ram (same as loading from hdd or cf card)

yes you can.

also checked about burning files, and its only wav's/samples that can be burned, not sequences. strange why though

you can't burn to a cdrom, only read form it. 'rom' is an acronym for read only memory.

you don't have a cd-rom drive in your computer which is able to burn cd/dvd ?

Technically calling it a CD-ROM drive if it can write a CD/DVD is incorrect.

oh right. you mean burn the files to a cd the using cd/dvd burner on the computer. then place cd in cdrom drive connected to sampler and load files.

oh i forgot to ask...-which one should i get? is there some oem drive which doesn't need that "pin mod" (as describet is onther posts....)
I have seen lot of them on the ebay but i am not sure if it will be working well...
