Hi, I've been thinking about buying JJOS2XL, as I like the look of the user interface, chord thing, arp function and the other stuff. However, I've been really put off by the removal of the loop edit.

Do you think this feature will ever be reincorporated? And isn't it a little dodgy for things such as these to be removed from paying user's hands? Wouldn't some open source method with a switchable feature option (because of MPC's lack of memory) be the best future for the MPC? Possibly like Reaper or something?

What things do others miss?

Its been a while since i used os2xl (went back to os2), so i can only think of a couple of things:

- non-adjustable 'whole'
- removal of chop (and something else) from the grid edit view

my workflow has changed a bit since i last used 2xl, might have to switch back and and see how i find it, if I dont have a an 'oh shit wheres the ___ option gone?, how am i going to do ___?' moment i might stay (i do like those dual filters, the new 16 pad screen and extra qt settings).

its strange, cause resonance can be controlled by midi-cc in. i raised this as a JJ request (being able to direct the cc 'internal') but not sure if its possible. maybe if you have a midi cable from an out to an in and then play with the midi thru settings it may work though?

q-links / automation are majorly crippled in 2xl. i've written in depth about this before. that is the biggest no-go for me.

xl is a bit more processor intensive, so if you have busy sequences it will bog down the machine sooner in 2xl than in 2.

filter response to qlink adjustment is different in 2xl than 2. i personally think the new behavior is worse but that is just personal preference.
