OS2 Loop Edit MIDI

What are the chances Loop Edit in OS2 will ever work with Midi? I've got this drum machine that I trigger and sequence with the MPC...would be so nice to set up with live Grid Edit XOX style.

I'm on OS1 still, I understand this can't happen in OS2?

just have drum selected rather than midi as track type, but no program chosen and pointing towards the midi device. it works fine
