Effects question

i was reading up on jj os but did not see anything about this.

can you apply more than 2 effects at a time in jj or is it the same as the akai os?

I think if the MPC could process more than two effects at once

It would blow up under the strain and you would be missing your face.

You can have two effects + master effects section. If this is not enough, simply resample with effects on and then you can layer two more. If you use this method you have unlimited effects.

what about adding different effects in step edit - you can have a lot more? ive never really got my head round the concept though to put it to much use

you cannot add more effects in step edit, you can simply tweak your q-link performance to make it more precise. You'd still be limited to 2 at a time

Think of it as two external effect processors, but no extra cabling. Yeah you can resample, which is really quick, especially on drums.

you can only have two effects at a time, but can have multiple 'effects sets' (combinations of effects from what i can tell) which can be switched by entering the number in step edit. page 101 of the manual details.

has anyone used this feature (ive only briefly). is it worthwhile?

Not sure about the xl, but on the 1000 (im using jjos2) you can apply effects to specific pads and then simult those pads to a 'master' pad, as a workaround.
