How to update JJOS?

Hi, this is my first post here.
I bought an mpc 1000 to another guy. He says that the mpc have de JJOS v4.61 (i've not found nothing about this version in any forum i've search) and i would like to upgrade the mpc to the 4.99 version. Is this possible without paying? or i have to pay "extra" money for that?

Yeah you can download the lastest version of os1 i.e. 4.99L on JJ's website for free.

If you can save in version 4.61 already it's good.
Otherwise that means the previous owner didn't pay to unlock.
