I was wondering if it would be possible to add a "track mute song mode" just like the FL song mode?

So u can arrange the beat inside the mpc much easier than the "stone age" song mode we got now.

Like this:

I hope u understand my poor explanation :P

Anyone else who think this would be a great idea? and some more ideas how to make it better?

looks more like a Grid Edit song mode, not Track Mute song mode

your diagram shows different Sequences overlapping, which is not how song mode works on the 1000 and 2500, so it might be difficult or impossible to implement

Yes your right "Grid Edit song mode" wich is controling the track mute.

Yeah i know, but the other idea might work?

I still think the idea of a graphical representation of song mode is a great idea, perhaps sequences COULD overlap, remember jjos1 where you have "ss" second sequence? it would be really nice if you could cut sequences into beats not just bars, and have the ability to start a sequence from any beat you want, not just the first bar all the time

Yeah! it would be soooo easy and much more fun to make the whole beat in the mpc instead of tracking in to the daw and arrange there.

Does anybody think this idea would be possible for JJ to create?

I sent a request to Murai a few minutes ago, see this link for the picture I sent:

http://img192.imageshack.us/img192/3203 ... sxl143.jpg

the description I provided is as follows:

I would describe this feature as a visual representation of Song mode, you should be able to enter an event with a pad, then you can "split" the event up and move it around using copy/paste, or "move"

This would allow the user to start a sequence on the bar of choice rather than limiting to the first bar every time. This would be a great improvement over the current song mode which has no graphical interface and only allows to play each sequence from start to finish before switching to another sequence. Perhaps your "second sequence" feature can be used here if two sequences overlap on the grid.

Thanks for everything you've done for MPC users, each release has been a great improvement and thank you for considering the addition of this feature.

Yeah that's awesome!

But my idea was also if u can have the track on each Chanel like for example:

On track1 u have your kick and snare and track2 u have your hi hat and track3 sample and so on...

Like this: http://img80.imageshack.us/img80/5286/trackmutesong.jpg

So basically the "DARK" and "WHITE" Controls the "Track Mutes"

And when u play in "Grid Edit song mode" they play all the tracks at the same time but if u want to mute your hihat on a special bar/beat or bass on a special bar/beat and such u can click or unclick it where u want the "brake/mute"

So instead of making 20 sequence whit "intro, verse, hook and verse whit no drums the first 2 bars/beats" and so on you just click and unclick where u want the "mutes" like when u play the beat and have the "track mute window" open and mute and unmute on the fly to give some variation.

So then u don't need to do 20 different sequences...
But still having the options with your idea to change it if u have a total different sequence that u have played different like a "hook" or a "bridge" "intro".

And maby have the option "Export song" ?

I hope get the picture hehe and sorry for my poor English (I'm from Sweden)

Sorry to impose myself but Murai asked me to pass that message regarding that feature request :

"JJ told me that feature request could not be easily implemented. He will try to add it but if it has an influence on other functions or if there are incompatibility issues he will not do it."

Peace
